The concert will be streamed live on 5 February. During intermission, Kimmo Korhonen will interview composer Sami Klemola. The concert can be watched as a recording until 5 April. The concert will also be broadcasted on Yle Radio 1 on 11 February at 19:00. After Hammond, we will hear Finnish Baroque Orchestra’s concert Händeküssen at 20:30. Recording of the radio broadcast will be available for 30 days after the concert.
The Musica nova Helsinki festival takes a look at urban life. The pioneer of minimalist composition, American composer Steve Reich recorded urban sounds in New York City for his work. The programme includes the world premiere of the concerto Ghost Notes for Hammond organ by the versatile Finnish composer Sami Klemola, and the opening number will be Mantel by Lisa Streich, one of the most prominent Swedish contemporary composers. The contemporary music event will be conducted by German conductor Roland Kluttig, presently the principal conductor of Graz Opera.
