Event Introduction

The resident composer of Musica nova Helsinki 2023 is Clara Iannotta, an acclaimed Italian composer of contemporary music. Her compositions will be heard in several concerts at the festival, including the world premiere of her new piece where the dark earth bends at the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra’s concert on March 3rd. Iannotta’s work explores music and sound material as an existential and physical experience. What emotions does composing in this time and space evoke in Iannotta? Come and listen to the composer present her music and thoughts at the Music of Our Time lecture by Sibelius Academy, University of Arts. Iannotta is currently working in Berlin and also works as a curator.

The discussion is in English.
