Microvariations by Sky Macklay reflects on variations in standard pitch in 19th-century Europe and takes a tour of music of that era. Rebecca Saunders, inspired by author Italo Calvino, tracks invisible phenomena. An Atlas of Time by Wang Lu charts time, life and a wide range of experiences from Chinese traditional music to social media. Sauli Zinovjev has already demonstrated a liberty of style and imagination in his concertos – will his new Double Concerto double down on everything?
