Responsibility
Helsinki Events Foundation is the responsible event organiser of Musica nova Helsinki festival, under which several individual event and concert organisers are involved. The Foundation is committed to compliance with responsible operating procedures in all its activities and supports other organisers in producing a responsible festival.
Accessibility
Most of the festival event venues are physically accessible. More details are available on the websites of the respective event venues.
Event for everyone
Musica nova Helsinki is a discrimination-free festival and we require our employees, artists, partners, subcontractors and audiences to commit to the principles of equality, fairness and non-discrimination.
If you notice discrimination, harassment or any other inappropriate behaviour at our events, kindly report it immediately to the nearest security steward or to Helsinki Events Foundation either
by email: yhdenvertaisuus@eventshelsinki.fi or
anonymously using this form
Emails are read by CEO Stuba Nikula and Piia Lääveri, Head of Administration at Helsinki Events Foundation.
Events organised by Helsinki Events Foundation comply with the principles for a safer space and everyone is welcome to attend our events as they are.
The principles for a safer space are:
– Respect everyone’s personal space and right to self-determination.
– Don’t assumptions based on, for example, appearance and don’t degrade, discriminate or mock anyone by what you say, your behaviour or actions.
– Let everyone speak and have a chance to take part in the debate. Listen and learn from the perspectives of others.
– Intervene where possible in if you witness any appropriate behaviour. Give and receive feedback in a constructive manner.
– Apologise if you have intentionally or unintentionally offended someone.
Environment and climate
The festival is also produced in an environmentally responsible way. To reduce the environmental impact of printed materials, we provide all organisers the possibility of an electronic programme on the Helsinki Events Foundation platform. If there is a café at the venue, the food served is mainly vegetarian or vegan. Performers and working groups are also served vegetarian or vegan food. The Foundation accommodates its performers in environmentally certified hotels.
What can you do?
Come to the event sustainably
Transport emissions are one of the biggest causes of carbon footprint of events – so where possible use public transport, walk or, weather permitting, cycle to get to the event. More detailed routes and timetables are available on Journey planner »
