The Finnish National Opera, one of the main organizers of Musica nova 2015, has announced an additional concert for the two Edgar Allan Poe themed compositions. The pieces will now be presented also on Friday, 13 February, in addition to Tuesday, February 10. Many artists have found Edgar Allan Poe’s (1809-1849) texts wildly inspiring – this time Poul Ruders and Toshio Hosokawa. Ruders’s Dreamland describes the journey beyond time and place, whereas The Raven by Hosokawa is a chamber opera, a tense monodrama and also the first stage work from the Finnish movie director Zaida Bergroth.
