Musica nova begins!

Musica nova Helsinki, Finland’s biggest contemporary music event, will be engaging in dialogue with contemporary music from the 6th to the 14th of February 2015. It will bring numerous composer and artist visitors of international repute to the Finnish capital and present a cross-section of leading names in Finnish contemporary music. The festival this year offers a record number of free events.

Shining in the role of soloist and soprano in the festival’s opening concert is Canadian Barbara Hannigan, easily one of the brightest stars of contemporary opera. Featuring in the concert as both conductor of the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and musician will be John Storgårds.
