Helsinki Chamber Choir: …küsst es die Zeit auf den Mund

Event Introduction

At a concert organised in connection with Musica nova Helsinki, Helsinki Chamber Choir performs three works that show three different ways of composing contemporary music for a choir. Cassandra Miller’s Guide is a joyful fest of free singing. Miller’s work shuns traditional notation and is built on the idea of creating music via oral tradition. Helena Tulve’s intensive and slow-moving Nächtliche Gesänge is a fine example of modern Baltic sound that cherishes the beauty of the human voice. Sami Klemola’s new work is a kind of expedition into the depths of song and electronic voices. The untamed soloist for the work is singer Anni Elif.
